SERIOUS ABOUT SAUSAGES - HALAL SAUSAGE SERVING TIPS & RECIPES
Every month, we will post a new recipe, to give you lots of ideas of how to eat your sausages.
May 2010 Bangers and Mash - The Original and Classic
Perfect for lunch or dinner…
- Cook one pack of serious sausages until beautifully brown all over and piping hot
- Make some wonderful potato mash. Not sure how? Click on this link or even here
- Boil up some healthy bite-sized veggies (green peas, corn niblets, sliced or diced carrots)
- Put it all on a warm plate and serve with your favourite gravy or sauce!
June 2010 Serious Sausage Sandwich. A perfect snack.....
- Cook a serious sausage (or two !) in a frying pan. Use just a drop of oil to coat the pan, and then cook very slowly on low heat for 7-8 min or until starting to go crisp and brown.
- Carefully remove the sausage from the pan, and place on a clean chopping board. Butterfly the sausage, using a very sharp knife. That is, cut the sausage lengthways, but don’t cut all the way through.
- Place the butterfly sausage back in the pan, with the open sausage facing down, and fry for a few more mins.
- Place the cooked sausage inside two slices of your favourite bread. At SSCo, we rarely add extra butter or margarine on the bread, as the sausage has enough lovely juices to coat the bread. We do sometimes spread on some of our favourite ketchup or brown sauce.
- Eat your yummy, scrummy, serious Sausage sandwich. Now, go make some for the kids !
A really serious British classic, which you just can’t beat.
